Whether it's the enhancement of your facial features using the hair-stroke method

for eyebrows, or designing a painted mural with brush strokes, Marcia Hale,

Master Permanent Makeup Specialist and Instructor at The Fine Arts of Beauty

demonstrates her passion and skill for making the world's surfaces more

beautiful one ‘Artistic’ stroke at a time!

Pairing her Basic, Advanced, Specialty, and Masters Certification for

Paramedical

Procedures from The American Institute of Intradermal Cosmetics with her

Fine Arts degree and teaching experience, she now offers classes to teach others

how

to become Certified in Permanent Cosmetics.

Marcia has enjoyed working with Body Beautiful since their beginning (over a

decade ago) as the original Laser Technician, providing treatments such  as Reiki,

Photofacials, Microderm abrasion, skin tag, sun spot, spider vein, tattoo,  and hair

removal. She is also a professional Artist, Art Teacher and a Life Coach using Art as Therapy. The role of a life coach, in its most simple form, is to encourage, coach and/or act as a facilitator of a client’s self-reflection, decision making, planning for the future, and creating life changes.

During that time she found great joy and job satisfaction helping people with their skin care needs inspiring ongoing research about better technology or treatments to help with other issues.  Her findings led her to research

paramedical treatments. These treatments include, but aren’t limited to, Areola Re-pigmentation for women who have had a mastectomy and seek ink implantation, as in a tattoo, to look like a real 3D areola. Naturally, as a trained artist, she felt called for the job. Surely, she could apply her knowledge of color theory and dimension to create a natural looking areola! Other issues were hair loss during treatment. Patients would lose not only the hair on their head, but also their eyebrows and eyelashes. Permanent Cosmetics (a.k.a. permanent makeup) proved to be the perfect solution. She was able to create natural-looking eyebrows that looked like real hairs, as well as eyeliner, and even lip color!  Soon these treatments became very popular and women (and men) of all ages were getting these areas enhanced.

Since then, the demand for these permanent makeup procedures has filled her schedule to where she performs only permanent makeup procedures all-day! Nearly a decade worth of experience and six more certifications later she has become a trusted professional provider for permanent makeup in Pittsburgh.   This demand has forced her to focus her time on the ‘Art’ of making each individual person’s features beautifully enhanced. Growing into the  business now known as The Fine Arts of Beauty! The word ‘ART’ is plural because she paints  murals during her down-time, many of which you will see when you come for your appointment! They are for sale and can be seen throughout the hallways of Pittsburgh Medical Mall in Cranberry as well as many of the other locations.

By now, you may have heard terms such as “microblading”, “ micro-art”, “micro-pigmentation”, “permanent tattoo, “semi-permanent tattoo” “ lash-enhancement”  etc.  These are all marketing terms that some people charge more for, but essentially it all means the same thing. The bottom line is that whenever ink is implanted in your skin, it is considered a tattoo. Most COSMETIC inks mixed within the last 7-10 years were designed to soften and fade -in time- for your protection and satisfaction. For instance, you may want to make changes later- making it fuller, or darker.  Which is why we suggest that you get a “color-boost” every 8 to 12 months to keep your makeup looking fresh, otherwise it may look completely faded out within 3 to 5 years- hence the term “semi-permanent”

Along with the introduction of new marketing terms, there has also been a lot of popularity for classes that teach only a one, or two-day “Micro-blading” lesson. This is a fabulous ADVANCED class for those who have learned their Basic Certification. But without that basic knowledge first, they may be doing their clients a huge disservice. With that being said, we have also had to add tattoo-removal treatments, using Elimink to our menu. Eliminink is a safe, non-acid method to remove bad permanent makeup jobs.

Our commitment to beautiful and safe permanent makeup procedures has lead us to welcome those who want to obtain the best basic training, as well as advanced, paramedical, and specialty certifications and make it a career!   Basic Training is 100 hours. You will learn everything you will need to know about skin, color theory, various machines, tools, and other equipment. You will learn OSHA approved sterile set-up/clean-up, as well as how to use each tool to apply permanent makeup to each area (lips, eyeliner, eyebrows).  You will also  receive a starter kit and business training/marketing to set you up for success in your new career. As a student, you will learn several methods to design the perfect shape for each face, and practice on practice ‘skins’. Finally, you will gather hands-on experience working with live models under direct guidance giving you the confidence necessary to be successful. After the initial training, students are welcome to come back and observe as well as perform supervised procedures.

If you are naturally inclined to work in a professional setting with beauty treatments and have a passion to learn more, this may be YOUR new career.  Good candidates are usually (but not limited to)  cosmetologists, estheticians, laser technicians, nurses, tattoo artists, or other professionals.  If you are interested in getting a treatment or learning more about permanent makeup training, please call 724.680.0048
